Policy Concepts

Talkin' Cattle To address the changing needs of Kentucky farm families and rural communities, the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board, at their December meeting, discussed new ideas in revising Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund (KADF) programs.

Two changes that the KADB enacted in December are as follows:

  • Revised Schedule for Consideration of Projects Adobe PDF Icon - Projects (a.k.a. non-models) will be considered every other month, instead of monthly, beginning March 2009.

  • "Blackout" Period for Model Programs - period (1/6/09-3/20/09) where no model programs will be considered for funding, so that feedback may be obtained for 2009 policy revisions.

There will be an opportunity at the 2009 KADB/KAFC Annual Meeting to discuss the Policy Concepts Adobe PDF Icon with GOAP staff, KADB members and others during the afternoon session titled, "Model Program Forum".

We are asking for input from a variety of agriculture related organizations across the Commonwealth. Please submit any comments or suggestions that you may have no later than January 31, 2009 to govkyagpolicy@ky.gov.
When providing comments or suggestions please reference the concept number located on the policy concept document.
