2012 Farmers' Markets Infrastructure
Competitive Grant Program

The following guidelines were developed for the implementation of a Farmers' Market awards program, utilizing state Agricultural Development Funds for 2012 for construction of new farmers' market facilities and expansion of existing facilities.

Eligible Items:

Components solely for the construction of a new farmers' market facility or expansion of existing facilities.

Funds:

Any one applicant may receive up to $25,000 in state funds. State and county funds may not be more than 50% of the total project. A total of $250,000 in state funds is available through this program.

Application:

Applicants must fill out the the above application & guidelines form, designed specifically for this program, and submit the original and 19 copies to the Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy.

Deadline:

Applications must be postmarked no late than June 29, 2012 to be eligible for consideration. Faxed or e-mailed applications will not be accepted.

Scoring:

Applications for this program will be competitively scored. A total of 100 points is possible. Applicants scoring 75 points or higher may be eligible for funding.
