The Agricultural Development Board created the Kentucky Center for Agricultural Development and Entrepreneurship for the purpose of:

• Providing business development and technical feasibility assistance;

• Building the entrepreneurial capacity of the farmers of the Commonwealth; and

• Distributing grants to advance farm diversification, cooperative development, marketing, and new product development.

The educational objectives of the Center will be implemented through a partnership between the Cooperative Extension Service and the Kentucky Small Business Development Centers. The Governor's Commission on Family Farms originally developed the concept of providing a single source of technical assistance and educational materials for farmer entrepreneurs.
