- Beginning Farmer Loan Program

- The Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation has announced the availability of a new lending program that will be administered through lenders with offices in Kentucky. This program has been designed to assist beginning farmers in formulating a business plan, securing needed expertise, and receiving the capital to prepare their farming operation for a successful future. - Coordinated Value-added Assistance Loan

- The Coordinated Value-Added Assistance Loan Program is designed to provide loan opportunities to companies and individuals in Kentucky who create contract production opportunities for other agricultural producers. KAFC will facilitate loans of up to $1,000,000 through this program with a limit of $100,000 for each new grower opportunity created. Visit this program's web page for more information.

- Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvements Grants

- Rural Business—Cooperative Service (RBS), an Agency within USDA Rural Development, announces it is accepting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2007 to purchase renewable energy systems and make energy efficiency improvements for agriculture producers and rural small businesses in eligible rural areas. Funding will be available in the form of grants, guaranteed loans, and combined guaranteed loans and grant applications. For renewable energy systems, the minimum grant request is $2,500 and the maximum is $500,000. For energy efficiency improvements, the minimum grant request is $1,500 and the maximum is $250,000. - Restaurant Rewards
- Kentucky Restaurant Rewards is a new program initiated by KDA and Partners for Family Farms. It is designed to reward Kentucky restaurants and caterers that purchase products directly from Kentucky farmers. Participating restaurants and caterers will be offered reimbursement for advertisements and promotional materials that promote local food products.
- SARE Research & Education Grant (Pre-proposals)

- The Southern Region USDA Program on Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) is requesting pre-proposals for research and education activities that address issues of sustainable agriculture of current and potential importance to the region and nation.
