2005 Agri-tourism Competitive Awards Program

The Agricultural Development Board has opened two rounds of competitive awards for agri-tourism businesses or regional agri-tourism organizations. 2005 Farmers' Market Competitive Awards Program

Acres for America Program

The Acres for America Program was established to provide funding for projects that conserve improtant habitat for fish, wildlife, and plants through acquisition of interest in real property. Approximately $3.1 million will be made available annually, for ten years, for conservation easements. Visit the RFP for more information.
 
Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program

The AFG is administered by the Department of Homeland Security in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration. The AFG Program assists rural, urban, and suburban fire departments in protecting citizens and firefighters against the effects of fire and fire-related accidents. Healthy Sprouts Awards 2006

National Fish & Wildlife Matching Grants

The National Fish & Wildlife Foundation operates a conservation grants program that awards grants, on a competitive basis, to eligible grant recipients. National Forest Foundation Community Assistance Program
[Round I - 4/26/2006 and Round II - 9/8/2006]
The National Forest Foundation established the Community Assistance Program to promote the creation of locally based forest partnerships that seek to build ecological, social, and economic sustainability. This program provides grants in the range of $5,000 - $15,000 to enable newly forming grassroots community groups to resolve differences and play a more active role in the sustainable management of nearby National Forests and surrounding communities. SARE Professional Development Program (Pre-proposals)

The Southern Region Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Program is requesting pre-proposals for projects of one to two years duration that provide training on sustainable agriculture for agricultural professionals and educators who serve farmers and other interested people in USDA's southern region.
 
Starbucks Youth Environmental Literacy Program

The Starbucks Foundation invites Letters of Inquiry from qualifying organizations that work with underserved youth. Grants range from $5,000 to $20,000. Visit the RFP for more information.
 
USDA Value-added Producer Grant
[postmarked 3/31/2006]
The Rural Business-Cooperative Service (RBS) announces the availability of approximately $19.475 million in competitive grant funds for fiscal year (FY) 2006 to help independent agricultural producers enter into value-added activities. Of this amount, $1.5 million is set aside for applicants requesting $25,000 or less. Awards may be made for planning activities or for working captial expenses, but not for both. The maximum grant amount for a planning grant is $100,000 and the maximum grant amount for a working capital grant is $300,000. For more information, click on the link above.
 
Youth Community Project Grants

Do Something is providing grants of $500 each to ten young people who submit creative proposals for solving local problems.
