Governor Patton will hold a press conference to announce the distribution of payment checks compensating tobacco growers and quota owners in Kentucky at a farm in Shelby County on December 27, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. The compensation comes from the 1999 Phase II settlement between tobacco-growing states and the four largest cigarette manufacturers.


Directions to press conference:

Location: W. T. White Farm, 704 Fields Lane, Simpsonville, KY, 40067.

From Frankfort take I-64 West to Exit 32, turn right onto SR-55 Taylorsville Rd. Turn left onto US-60 Shelbyville Rd. Turn right onto Little Bullskin Rd [Fields Lane]. Once you are on Fields Lane you will cross the CSX railroad and bear left (you will see a new subdivision). Look for mailbox with number 704 on the left side of the road and you will turn right off of Fields Lane into Mr. White's driveway. Mr. White's house is 7/10 of a mile from the road.
